Ok, I honestly couldn't resist this. I found this meme called Situation Sunday, and it looked too good to pass up. There are three situations that you have to respond to. I'd love to hear your answers!

Situation # 1
Your brother and his wife are taking a trip out of the country, for a second honeymoon. They are going to be gone two weeks and have asked you to watch their two boys, ages 12, and 15. The third day there, the boys get mad at you for not letting them spend all their time playing X-box, and storm into their room. You give them time to cool off and go check on them.... They have snuck out a window. Night comes and they still are not there.... What do you do?

Wow! Well, I would trust that my brother and his wife raised their kids correctly, and that they would be home shortly after dark. If they come home by around 10:00pm, I would be extremely happy that they came back, but I would let them know that I am going to call their parents and that they will be punished for running away.
If, by 10:00pm the boys still weren't home, I would call their parents anyway and tell them the story, ask their advice, see if they know of any friends' houses the boys could have gone to, etc. If necessary, I would call the police and ask them to keep a watch for the boys (since I don't think you can file a missing persons report until 24 hours have passed).

Situation # 2
You and a friend are out hiking in a State Forest. Three miles into the woods you come across what looks like a crashed UFO.... What do you do?

Definitely the first thing I would say is "What the fuck?!" I'd go looking a little deeper at the wreck, to see if I can figure out just what the heck it is. Then, whether I find out what it is or not, I would be sure to let the State Park sheriff (or whoever) know what I found so that it could get cleared out of the way. But I know the whole time I'd really be wondering what the heck it was. And if I was camping in the forest I don't think I'd be able to sleep, thinking that aliens would be roaming around the woods.

Situation # 3
You are camping out with your brother's family, watching his children. Your boyfriend gets jeolous of the bond the family has with you. He refuses to go biking, hiking, or anything. He says he might go boating but refuses to let you bring the kids.... What do you do?

I'd probably get pretty angry with how selfish my boyfriend was acting. I'd tell him so. Family is family, what can he expect? I'd go off with my family, playing and having a good time. After the camping trip I'm sure I'd break up with him, because the relationship would cause nothing but family drama.

I made a really big boo-boo at work last night. I messed up someone's take-out order (on accident! I thought if someone specified Italian sausage, that it meant linguica! Whoops!). The lady called back when she got home and asked to speak to the owner. If you ask me, she got a little more upset than necessary. The owner offered to bake another pizza, but she wasn't happy with anything he was saying. She ended up hanging up on him. I felt terrible, because it was my honest mistake, and the lady got so bent-up about it. But, I still think that she got a little too angry about the situation. Now I know that I was wrong, and I won't make that mistake again. I learned my lesson.

I have a slight crush on one of the cooks at work. He's a really nice, handsome Italian man. Maybe about 28 years old. I wouldn't guess older than 30. Yeah, I know. That's quite a bit older than me. But he's still nice to look at, haha. And he's got more fun energy than some of the other cooks. I do like working there. It's a fun atmosphere for the most part. I just feel like such a twit for messing up orders/dropping pizzas. But it's only the first week, right? I'm allowed to mess up during the first week.

Well here's my 700th post for this blog. Exciting? Eh, not really. 1000 will be more exciting.

I wasn't exactly tagged, but SleepyJane tagged anyone who wanted to do this "five things" meme for anyone who didn't know what to blog about. And that's how I am today.

5 Things in my bag:
- Wallet
- Sunglasses
- Five tubes of different lip glosses/chap sticks
- Keys
- Cell phone

5 Fav things in my bedroom:
- My bed (it's a loft bed, so I still have a ton of space in my room)
- My stereo. I've had it since I was 11, and it's gotten the most use of anything in my room.
- My computer
- My stuffed animals. Even though I don't sleep with any of them or anything like that, I've had most of them since my little childhood
- My clothes!

5 Things I’ve always wanted to do:
- Live abroad
- Pose nude for a piece of art (NOT a dirty magazine), actual ART
- Ice skate on a frozen lake
- Make a name for myself as a forensic scientist
- Have a wonderful family

5 Things I’m currently into:
- "Mercy" by Duffy. LOVE that song
- Making money at my summer job
- Working out
- Napping
- Checking out books from the library

So I guess I can let you all know that I went to the library today and checked out five new books. I started one today, called Making Mischief by Elizabeth Young. We'll see how this goes. It's about a 16-year-old girl and her cousins one summer. Or that's what it's about so far.

Yesterday I spent the day lounging around the house, not really doing anything. Last night I hung out with Audra, her ex Cenzo (short for Vincenzo), and his friend Spidey (aka Andrew). We watched Sweeney Todd and laughed because Cenzo, such a manly-man, kept singing along.

Tonight I've got work at 5:00. It's the weekend, so I'm hoping I do rather well tonight. I've actually got to start getting ready for that, so I'm gonna go for now. I wish I had more to talk about, I feel like this is a boring entry.

Yesterday was my first real day volunteering at the crime lab, doing the boring stuff that they're having me do down there. I wanted to volunteer with some hands-on stuff, not upload employee files (like education and employment history) into a database. It's boring. I got there at 9:00 yesterday morning, and as the lady who's "in charge" of me was fiddling around with the computer, she ended up messing it up and it took an hour to fix it. So then I stayed until noon working on the files. At least it's easy, right? I don't know. I mean, if they're dealing with actual case work, I know I can't really be a part of that (especially not if something is going to go to court), but can't I be in the lab to prepare stuff? Set stuff up?

I dropped a pizza on Wednesday night at work. An extra large. It became unbalanced in my hands as I was walking it to the table, and I dropped it. Upside-down. Kersplattt everywhere on the floor. RIGHT next to the table. In front of the customers who ordered it. Oh man, did I feel like an idiot. I was SO embarrassed. At least the table was very understanding. I apologized a hundred times. So they waited for another pizza to be made, and they still tipped me. But man. I almost cried. Oh well. What can ya do? It happened, but it's in the past. I think I made a bigger deal out of it than anyone else did, lol.

Last night went better--no dropped pizzas. I have today off, so I'm doing laundry right now, and I'm going to the gym at some point today. I also kind of want to lay out in the sun, but I don't think I have any sunscreen. But I do have those gradual self-tanners, the kind you use daily to add just a little color every day. Maybe I'll just use that. But I am tired, so I want to take a nap today, too. I have every intention of just taking it easy today.

My mom and brother are going up to my grandparents' house for the weekend, and I'll be here dogsitting for some family friends who are also going out of town. And tomorrow I have work. It'll be my first weekend shift when I'm not "in training," and it's a holiday weekend (they said it can get pretty busy), so let's hope I do ok!

I'll end with the Friday Five and after, the QOTD.
1. What were some of the smells and tastes of your childhood? I'll always remember this one perfume that the teacher's aide in Kindergarten wore. I have no idea what it was called, but she was the only one I knew who wore it, and it'll always stay in my mind. Also the perfume that my mom wears, Oscar de la Renta (so pretty!), and the lotion that my grandma wears, Estee Lauder. As for tastes, my other grandma's green beans. I've always loved them. I still can't get enough of them.
2. What did you have as a child that you do not think children today have? A Lite-Brite. Do they still make those? If so, I wonder if kids enjoy it like I did. It seems most kids just want to have video games now.
3. What elementary grade was your favorite? Hmmmm, I guess it was first grade. I had such a cool teacher. She was a whole lot of fun. And it was a good mix of play-time and learning-time. She made learning really fun.
4. What summer do you remember the best as a child? I don't remember any ones in particular, wait, yes I do. The summer after fourth grade I remember first starting to like boys. At my grandparents' house (it was still just a summer cabin back then) there was a community pool, and I remember three boys there my age that my friends and I had such crushes on (we had many crushes on many different boys up there over the years). We would giggle and stare at them, and try to follow them around. Try to look cute in our little swimsuits that our little 11-year-old bodies barely filled out (well, I was an early bloomer, so my suit was a little fuller than my friends...). Those were the days!
5. What one piece of advice would you give to your younger self, and at what age? Audra and I were talking about this on Tuesday. We were both saying that when we were about 12-16ish years old, no matter where we would go, we would plan it around meeting boys. Going to Six Flags? omg-are-there-gonna-be-boys? The mall? ahhhh-i-hope-there's-boys. School baseball game? What-cute-boys-from-the-other-school-will-be-there? Before any of us had cell phones, we always made sure that we'd have a pen and paper to write down any of the phone numbers we never got. I would go back and tell myself at that age to CALM THE EFF DOWN. More likely, I'd try to tell my hormones from back then to CALM THE EFF DOWN. I would tell 14-year-old Angela that boys don't matter so much--just have fun with your friends while you can, boys can wait.

Ok, now the QOTD. What's your favorite midnight snack? Something sweet, usually. Maybe like a granola bar or some cereal. I'm not a real big midnight snacker. I try not to eat too much after dinner.

Inspired by Jenn, who shared about a note she keeps in her wallet behind her ID, I decided to do the same. I keep a note in my wallet, too, behind my ID, but it's definitely not a note like hers.

At my high school, all the seniors had to take a religion class known as Prayer and Worship (I went to a Catholic high school, that's why). Our last day of class, when we were "supposed" to take our final, we entered the classroom and noticed that all of the desks were in a giant circle. Our teacher handed out slips of paper (like the one above) to everyone in the class and only told us to write our name in the middle. So, we all did as she told. Then she turned on some calming, meditative music, and told us that we were going to pass the papers around the circle, and that we were all going to write something nice about the person whose paper we had. It took nearly an hour. I'll tell you that it was kind of hard to think of things to write for some people. But I thought of something honest to write about each of them.

The slip of paper that I got back at the end of class is what you see above. There are some more comments, too, on the back. I took that slip of paper home with me after school, where I really got to read what people wrote, and it made me cry. In high school we're all insecure. I don't think anyone is immune to that. Even the "popular" people in high school are insecure. This slip of paper really touched me. I knew then that everyone in my Prayer and Worship class (not just my friends in the class) cared about me, even if only for the minute that they wrote on my paper.

So, I keep that paper folded up in my wallet, to remind me that I'm a good person and that there are people in the world who truly care about me. It was the best high school assignment I've ever completed.

Onto the QOTD.... Where do you want to be in ten years? In ten years I hope to be engaged to a wonderful man, have a job that I love, be in good health, have good relationships with my family and friends, and most importantly, I want to keep being happy with my life.

This morning was quite interesting. After taking my mom to work at 6:45, I went to the gym to get it over with. While I was there, an older woman (who told me she was 74!) struck up a conversation with me. She was a nice old lady who told me about her health and that she wants to stay active. She looked great for being 74 years old. I hope when I'm her age that I'll still be going to the gym to stay healthy!

When I was back at home, around 10:30 our house keeper came. I had to stay around the house till she came to show her how to use the new vacuum I blogged about on Monday. We were chatting a little bit, and she asked me if I have a boyfriend. I told her that I didn't (and kind of explained the story to her). Turns out she was thinking of setting me up with her son! Haha! I laughed a little bit, but told her that I'm not ready to date again, at least not yet.

Well, yesterday I spent the day with one of my bestests ever, Audra. We went to the mall and to Target and did a little damage, haha. I bought another dress for Las Vegas (two weeks away!!!) and a little sun dress from Forever 21, and a body shaper (yes, I have some flaws I'd like to hide) and some Bonne Bell chap stick at Target. It was nice to hang out with Audra, since I haven't seen her since Thanksgiving. She's single too, so we were reminiscing the days back in high school, the last time we were both single together, and we were chatting about how boy crazy we used to be. We had some good laughs.

Today I spent my whole Kohls gift card that my grandparents got me (and then some) on some shirts, jewelry, sunglasses, and a bag. Yikes! There went all my tips from work on Monday! I've really gotta slow down and actually start saving the money that I earn! I want to have a car this school year!!

Oh well. I've got work again tonight, so let's hope I make just as much!!

I feel nice and energized. Why? I just returned from the gym. I was lazy with my cardio, but I spent a little more time on weights. And my bottom half will thank me in the future.

So, I love my job. I worked last night (it's pretty official that I'm finished with "training"), got a little stressed when it got busy, but all-in-all, I did pretty well. My boss said so, too. He gave me a few pointers at the end of the night, things that he noticed that he wants me to be aware of, and I agree with him. It's still a learning process since I'm new to the restaurant, so next time I'll remember what he told me. But boy. Wow. I made more tips last night that I ever have before. Granted, the prices are higher at the pizza place than the diner where I work at school, but I was pleasantly surprised at the end of my shift when I came home with more than $100 in tips. I'm really going to like working there.

For all of you who like memes, have you been to The Daily Meme? I just found it today. Now I know memes can be annoying (especially the ones that tag people), but I think they're a fun way for you to learn a little insight into my life. Today I'm going to do the Ten on Tuesday again, and the theme is movies that I want to see (they don't have to be in theaters).
1. Sex and the City. C'mon. Duh.
2. Indiana Jones. I have this thing for Harrison Ford. He's a yummy looking older man. And Shia Labeouf? He's a yummy looking younger man. Two handsome men going on archeological adventures sounds like a perfect summer flick to me.
3. The Dark Knight. Not just because it's Heath Ledger's last film, either (although I can't wait to see how much of a creepy joker he really is). Of all the super heroes, Batman is my favorite. I didn't see Batman Begins, but I don't think that really matters here.
4. Juno. Yeah, I still haven't seen it.
5. Fracture. I love Ryan Gosling. But this looks like an awesome thriller, and I'm mad that I still haven't seen it!
6. The Bucket List. It's probably be a good tear-jerker slash comedy, don't you think?
7. Atonement. Yeah.... I haven't seen this one, either.
8. The Illusionist. I saw The Prestige (the other magic movie that came out around the same time), and people say you really either like one or the other. I'd like to compare.
9. Cars. I love Disney movies, and you never get too old for them. They have jokes for adults, too, so I'd really like to get a chance to see this one.
10. The Princess and the Frog. Also a Disney movie, it's based on the classic fairy tale of the Frog Prince. It will take place in 1920s New Orleans, and will feature Disney's first black 'princess' (since obviously America doesn't have real princesses). It's supposed to be released some time in 2009.

Annnd, for the QOTD, what's your favorite type of cheese? I like allll types of cheese! Extra sharp cheddar, swiss, brie, gouda, cheddar jack, a whole lot of them. I'm not too big on standard American, though....

One of my best friends, Audra, is home for the summer. I think we're going to make plans to hang out today. I haven't seen her since Thanksgiving, so it's been awhile. I didn't get a chance to see her over Christmas break because she went to India for the holidays with her family (her mom is from India) the day after I got home. I don't know what we'll do. Maybe see one of those movies I mentioned!

I also want to go to the store and see if I can find some more shirts for work. I don't have to really dress up with a white collared shirt and all, but I have to look "nice." Black pants or skirt that hits the knee, and a black or white shirt that looks nice. I'll find something. I'm also thinking about getting a MicroSD card for my phone, so I can store some more things on it. I can use it as an mp3 player, but since I have one already, I'm not sure if I want to do that. Yeah, I can always sell my current one.... That's always an idea. But if I sell it, I have to wait till I'm back in Pittsburgh because that's where the software and box is for it. What do you think? Save my current mp3 player? Or start using my Palm Centro as an mp3 player?

Well that's all for now I guess. See? I'm doing better with blogging more often already!

Wow, I know. It's been a couple days, hasn't it? I've been busy the past couple days with work and errands and such. I wanted to blog yesterday but couldn't get around to it.

But, work is going well! So far I like it. Waitressing at this pizza place isn't too different than waitressing back at school (except the pay is a LOT better--thank you, California!). On Thursday and Friday I followed my trainer around, and on Saturday I answered the phones for take-out orders actually got to take some tables! So far, so good. It's kind of unreal to me to be working there. I've been eating at this pizza place since I was a baby--and now I'm working there. But it's neat. The other waitresses I've met so far are nice, along with all of the cooks. Once I get a little more used to it, I'm sure I'll like it more.

Today I have plans to clean my room and vacuum, watch Moonlight online (because I missed it on Friday due to work), call Jamisen (because he's going to Europe tomorrow for three weeks), and.... there was something else on my list, but I can't think of it now. Oh well.

Here's my answer to the most recent QOTD. What do you do when you get a crush on someone? Usually, nothing. Maybe flirt a little. But I'm afraid of rejection to I don't really do anything until I know he likes me back.... I guess I've gotta get back into the swing of things since I'm single now and find guys to crush on, don't I!

(Edit: Added at 3:00pm) On days when I have the house to myself, I enjoy being lazy and walking around in my undies. It's relaxing and comfortable, I think. I cleaned and vacuumed my room today in my underwear. I cleaned my room because I was upset. I was upset because I called Jamisen to tell him to have fun in Europe and it made me really miss him. We're still on good terms, but I'll miss him, I'm sure, for awhile. After cleaning I watched Moonlight. I'm disappointed to find out that CBS isn't going to renew the show for a second season (dammit!), but hopefully a smaller station will. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Because Mick St. John is the hottest fictional vamp since Brad Pitt was Louis in Interview with the Vampire.

Even though it's still two weeks away, I got my first 21st birthday card today from my grandparents, complete with a gift card for Kohls and a gift card for Southwest Airlines (about a week and a half too late, for that one). But, I'll use the Southwest card eventually. Hopefully I'll have some time off work to fly to Pittsburgh in July and check out houses with Maddy, my roommate from freshman year, who I'll be living with again this school year.

Again switching back to vacuuming, as I was doing that in the living room this morning (we got a new vacuum, probably too expensive, and a little 'clunkier' than I'd like, but it's got this futuristic look to it, and it does clean the carpet better), I was moving around the furniture to get underneath the couch and coffee table (because THAT hadn't been done in years. It was a scary sight when I moved the couch to vacuum...), and I realized that it's time for a change in the living room. Moving the furniture around would be welcome for me. My mom probably wouldn't agree, though....

Ok, well I promise to blog more this week. I was doing pretty well there for awhile, posting almost every day!

I've got good news!

I've got a summer job! And it's exactly where I wanted to work! I start training today. I'm really excited about it. I'll be waitressing, about 15 hours a week. Perfect! Money is on its way to my pocket, haha. This will be good since I won't be so bored this summer like I was last summer. I'll actually be DOING something with my days! I went to this place last Friday and asked if they were hiring, and the guy didn't sound too enthusiastic, really. It didn't seem like they needed anyone, but he asked for my resume anyway. So I was pretty surprised on Monday when he called and asked if I could come in for an interview! The interview was yesterday at 4:00pm, and by 4:15 I had a job! He told me the dress code, so I went out and bought a half-apron, some black pants, a white polo, and some black shoes. I'm excited! This place is pretty popular--I've been going there since I was born basically, and so has pretty much every person from my city. My family was all pretty excited when I told them, too!

So, there's no theme for this week's Thursday Thirteen, so I'm going to list 13 things I've done at home for the two weeks I've been home so far this summer:
1. Called CoCo County about volunteering in the crime lab.
2. Already went through orientation at the crime lab.
3. Made a new, updated resume.
4. Applied for a job at three restaurants--heard back and was hired from one.
5. Went to the gym a couple times.
6. Caught a cold.
7. Went to watch three of my cousins' little league games.
8. Went to my grandparents' house for the night.
9. Visited only one friend so far.
10. Spent too much money.
11. On buying plane tickets to/from Las Vegas.
12. Got a new cell phone.
13. Failed to completely unpack all my stuff from school.

This week is REALLY hot in the Bay Area. We've officially got a "heat warning." It was about 95 degrees yesterday--for MAY. The weather normally doesn't get that hot until July. It's supposed to be hotter today. Ugh. It's miserable when it's so hot. But at least California doesn't get humid. If it were 95 degrees AND humid--I'd be dying. It's bad enough in Pittsburgh being 85 degrees and humid.

Changing subjects again (Dan said I write a lot of random things), I've mostly figured out how to use my phone. I'm definitely using it a lot! The internet is pretty cool, I must admit. I'll be able to blog "on the road" now, instead of having to wait to sit at a computer. I'll have to test that out at some point....

My cold is getting better--I'm not coughing as much, I don't have such a headache, and my throat is no longer sore. I still kind of have that raspy voice thing, but not too much. I'm glad I'm feeling better.

Today I have plans to clean my room (finish unpacking, that is), do some pilates, and go to work! I hope all of YOU have a great day as well!

The main picture, believe it or not, is clipart from Microsoft Word. The layout was made in PSP7 and coded 100% by me in Notepad. I prefer how the layout looks in IE, but it looks good in firefox also. Please use 1024x768 resolution or above. The pixels are from here. Site History

I started webdesigning in 2002, and had my humble beginnings on geocities. My blog originally had the name "Wubulous" after the "Wubulous World of Dr. Seuss" television show. After about a month on geocities I got hosted at punkette.org (now closed). I was there for about a year an a half until my host could no longer maintain punkette.org. I went back to only using blogspot, with my site "Untitled," until I eventually found a new host at so-emo.net (also now closed). Since October 2005 I have been located again at blogspot. In August 2005, when I started college, I renamed my blog to "My Quiet Testimony." I couldn't think of anything that really could describe my site. But, looking through the dictionary one night, I picked out the name. I think it describes my feelings about this site more accurately than anything. I hope you enjoy what you see here and keep coming back. I choose to remain on blogspot for the main reason that I dislike moving from host to host. And for the fact that FTP programs are not allowed on my school's network.
